Radiolicious is an application that runs on your iphone that let's users listen to local radio stations.  It is an amazing bit of technology by MySimBook.com that highlights local radio's ability to connect. Local radio is linking to everyone, everywhere,  24-7 and introduces the listener to opportunity, music, conversation, controversy, and commerce.

I laugh at all the hype around social marketing, like it's so new?! Radio is and has always been in the business of social marketing the only difference is technology makes it easier for Local Radio to extend the personal communication further. New technologies allow more people to engage and communicate in every moment, all at once in a one-to-one very personal way.   

Radio is in the business of connecting. Radiolicious.fm is cool technology.

I Work for Radio

Working folks listen to the Radio. Higher incomes, higher gas prices and busy schedules make the at work Radio listener a valuable and unique customer. ErwinEprhon's whitepaper makes a few observations about this prime customer.

One: People who work full-time have more money as a matter of fact they have 78% larger incomes that those who don't work full time.

Two: Working people have always shopped during the day and the habit is growing and the last brand message many of these people get before they buy they hear on the Radio.

Three: At-work shopper listen to more Radio. New PPM data documents for people employed full-time, the average quarter hour weekday rating, 6AM-7PM across five PPM markets is from 53%-84% higher than those not employed.

The FAN 1080 Goes Live in Seattle

Through ESPN Sports Radio 1080 The Fan’s successful partnership with Comcast Sports Net, Portland area residents have been able to view local radio show “Primetime with Isaac and Suke” on CSN, simulcast weekdays from 3-6pm while performing their live radio show. The next evolution in this valuable partnership has brought Primetime on CSN to the Seattle market, effective today.

Jeff Austin, Program Director for ESPN Sports Radio 1080 The Fan, says, “We are very pleased that we can reach the Seattle audience through our relationship with CSN. We look forward to welcoming Seattle sports fans with our unique brand of sports and entertainment.”

With steady and consistent growth, the popularity of Isaac Ropp and Jason Scukanec’s afternoon “Primetime” show has led to the highest ratings and revenue in the Fan’s history and the addition of the TV component has only increased listenership and viewership.  “Primetime with Isaac and Big Suke” has a rabid fan following due to their ability to entertain while delivering the latest sports stories.  The daily simulcast of Primetime on the Comcast Sports Net channel has only helped grow the show into a top-rated drive-time asset, and can now be viewed on television from the Seattle market in the north down to Eugene in the south.

ESPN Sports Radio 1080 The Fan is Portland’s first name in sports entertainment. The Fan has enjoyed continued success as the FIRST all-sports station in the Portland market. Is cable really a good deal? In our market Radio has more loyal listeners and less station choices. Radio has more community involvement. Radio is digitally savvy with texting and all Internet related  capabilities. Radio is everyday, all day. Cable is not.

Cable can work really well for a program or a targeted network as part of a strong marketing mix.

Radio works well as your marketing grounding rod. It bring awareness to all other forms of advertising or does fabulously all by itself.
